Freeform Bamboo Table
The inspiration for this table is twofold: on the one hand its a reference to the french Mid-century modern design - think the Passe-Plats in Maison Borot - on the other hand its a node to the famous art movement Arte Povera - which was known for combining “opposite” materials. The combination of old and new or cheap and expansive creates tension between the two.
The slow-grown, solid teak table top and leg are produced respecting renowned craftsman-wood techniques in contrast with the fast-grown, sometimes invasive sawn-off bamboo legs.
