The straw chair is an iconic piece throughout the history of design. It originated in Savoy, a region near Italy and Switzerland in the southeast of France, absorbing the rich history of the Alpine mountains, resulting in interesting and local furnishings.

Later this furniture style got adopted and enhanced by other french designers, such as Charlotte Perriand & Pierre Jeanneret.
