Sycamore Bench - Parchment Seat
Here’s the situation. It’s a bench. But not just any bench.
This one’s got a story. Born in 1925, designed by Jean-Michel Frank, and used in some of the residential projects he created. Several years later, an Italian artisan - probably - made a variation. You know how the Italians are: a little stubborn, always tweaking and improvising. They swapped the stingray for parchment leather and replaced the fabric with deer skin, a subtle nod to another original piece by Jean-Michel Frank.
Based on this particular interpretation we came across, we’ve made our own re-interpretation of the Italian interpretation - a copia di una copia. We updated the measurements to align with the original "Banquette en galuchat gris, pieds cubiques à pans coupés" from 1925.
This piece is more than a tribute - it’s a sophisticated re-interpretation, blending historical inspiration with contemporary craftsmanship while preserving the spirit of artisanal luxury.
Every piece is made to order. Prefer oak instead of parchment? Fabric instead of leather? Customizations are available upon request to suit your preferences.
Overall dimensions:
Height: 59 cm
Width: 48 cm
Length: 69 cm
